Gray-banded Kingsnake (Lampropeltis alterna) is a medium-sized (1.2 m total length), slender, gray snake with black and orange banding. They are distributed from southeastern New Mexico to southwestern Texas and into central Mexico. They are active at night and found in dry, rocky, desert habitats of the Chihuahuan Desert.
