Rock Rattlesnake (Crotalus lepidus) is a small (0.84 m total length) rattlesnake that is comprised of four subspecies, two of which are found in New Mexico. The subspecies found in New Mexico range across southeastern Arizona, southern New Mexico, western Texas, and south to eastern Mexico. They are most often found in rocky, mountainous areas or semiarid shrublands and woodlands.
