Mountain Skink (Plestiodon callicephalus) is a small (13-18 cm total length), secretive, glossy lizard that are distributed from Jalisco, north through western Mexico and just over the U.S.-Mexico border into southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico. In the U.S., they can be found in montane pine and oak forests, typically in canyons and on hillsides.
