Socorro Springsnail (Pyrgulopsis neomexicana) is a tiny (shell length up to 2.5 mm) warm water snail that only occurs in Torreon Springs in Socorro County, New Mexico. They live on stones among aquatic vegetation or in the top layer of organic material within the spring. The primary spring source where they are found has been impounded, leaving only a 2.4 m run of suitable habitat for the snails.
