Lesser Long-nosed Bat (Leptonycteris yerbabuenae) is a small (6-8 cm) bat that is found in southern Arizona and the Animas and Peloncillo Mountains of New Mexico, south to Honduras. They roost in old mines and caves at the base of mountains in desert grassland and shrubland and the lower edges of oak woodlands. They are only found in the U.S. during the warmer months
