Gray Redhorse (Moxostoma congestum) is a medium-sized (0.5 m) fish that occurs in western Texas and downstream of Brantley Dam in the lower Pecos River and in the Black River of New Mexico. They inhabit warm, clear to somewhat cloudy, low flow rivers of small to medium size; adults prefer pools while young prefer riffles and runs. Their diet consists largely of immature aquatic insects.
