Peppered Chub (Macrhybopsis tetranema) is a small (4.5-6.5 cm) minnow that is currently found in Kansas and in the Canadian River between the Ute and Meredith reservoirs of New Mexico and Texas. They are found in the riffles of large, permanently flowing, sandy streams. The high flow that follows summer storms is important for successful spawning.
