Short Finger Clam Shrimp (Lynceus brevifrons) is a medium-sized (3-7 mm) freshwater branchiopod that is distributed from the southern Great Plains to the Chihuahuan Desert. In New Mexico they occur in the Lower Colorado and Upper Pecos river basins. They inhabit alkaline, cloudy, warm temporary pools and playas.
